10th District leo Forum 2008 :: Second Day

At morning, we went to hotel hall to attend the Opening Ceremony.

After the Opening Ceremony, the Awards Presentation continued.

Our club was awarded with more than 30 awards, including Outstanding Asst. Secretary, Outstanding Asst. Treasurer, Outstanding Director and Outstanding Leo , 100% Club Administrative Award, Outstanding Projects and etc.

_________________________________________Beside that, we had 7 leos passed the Leo Proficiency Test recently and receiving their certificates during the Awards Presentation.

More then 3 hours had been spent to give out more than 300 awards during the Awards Presentation.

In the evening, a banquet was given to all the Guest of Honor, Lions and Leos attending the Forum.

The theme of the night was " Black and White".

Top Awards Presentation was also held at the same time, we were excited and anxioused while waiting for the announcement of the winners.

Our 2nd Vice President 2007-2008, Leo Teoh Him Keat obtained the Top Alpha Leo Award !

We were proud to have our Leo Teoh obtained the TOP Alpha Leo Award, congratulations. Roar!!

Beside that, we also like to congratulation to our sister club, Leo Club of Penang (City) for obtaining Top Omega Leo Club, Top Omega Leo President, Top Omega Leo Secretary, and etc.

We enjoyed the delicious food and interesting programmes and performences especially the magic show and Auction Sale with "Leo Money".

The banquet came to an end with the dancing and taking photo activities.

We had a wonderful and unforgetable night...

10th District Leo Forum 2008 :: First Day

On the first day of 10th District 308 B2 Leo Forum, the delegates were transfered to Red Cresant Hall for the next programme of the day, Team Building. All of the groups were required to finish 3 out of 6 games, and complete Recycled Items and Team Cheer, in 3 hours only.

The group members were creating a costume with recycle materials.

5 Squares, each member will have to lie down their head and half of the body on each other lap with the foot on the ground. They will stand by that position for 3 minutes. Not an easy task! You can see some of the team members grabbed the hands together in order not to fall down so easily.

The team will have to send representative and the member is required to guess what is inside the box (10 boxes) by insert the hand and touch only.

Build a Tower, the teams will have to try and build the highest straw tower standing within 20 minutes.

After that, all delegates were sent back to the hotel, to prepare the fellowship night. The theme of that night was " Starlight Night "

The night was kicked off with the 8TV host and celebrities: BAKI followed by Leo Idol Final, Digi Celebriteen 2007, Joseph, Dave Chai , Danny and DINA from MALAYSIAN Idol! It was an enjoyable and yet memorable night to all Leos to this Leo Forum.

Black and White are the colors that will make the night glamorous with everyone dressing smart and unique with just 2 (two) colors to match with. It is like going back to the 40s, where television was just black and white colors only before colors was invented.

Fellowship Night - Starlight Night!!!

Starlight Night is the theme for fellowship dinner. Imagine it a night where you can see stars and moon with dark clouds. You will be able to see stars shining like our Leo Idol Competition Finalists, Dina from Malaysia Idol and Digi CelebriTeen artists.

The colors involved in Starlight night are blue, white, gold, silver, grey, black and something that is metallic or shiny. Something that makes people goes Blink, Blink, Blink when they see you.

Visit to St. Joseph Home, The Children's Protection Society, Ramakrishna

Last Satuday (26/1/08), Leo Club of Penang(City) and our club, Leo Club of Chung Ling High School were visited to three orphanages, which were St. Joseph Home, The Children's Protection Society & Ramakrishna. During the visit, the money obtained from the 'Charity Christmas Bazaar' was donated to the above mentioned orphanages. Each orphanage obtained about RM888.

Leo Ch'ng Kok Sheng, Leo Fiona Lee, Leo Billy Loo, Leo Kwang Min Xiang, and our Past President Leo Teoh Shaw Jhee handing over the charity fund to 3 orphanages.

"Creative" Mask and Leo Poster Design Competition

"Creative" Mask and Leo Poster Design Competition were jointly organized by Leo Club of Penang (City), Leo Club of Convent Datuk Keramat & Leo Club of Chung Ling High School.

Turn up a lot of people took part in the mask design competition. There were health talk, free basic health screening, and blood donation. Leo Chng Kok Sheng, Leo Vincent Khor, Leo Wah Si Sheng proudly donated their blood on that day.

The winners of the mask and leo poster design competition get to walkaway with some cash prize. The champion for both competition were also get a Leo Club of Penang (City) 30th Anniversary Charity Dinner's ticket for free.

5 IN 1 PROJECT!!! "MASK" & LEO Poster Design Competition, Blood Donation, Health Screening, Health Talk & Leo Exhibition

On 8 July 2007, We will be having a series activities such as Leo Poster & Mask design competition, blood donation, health screening, blood donation and health talk by Dr. Goh Huck Keen will be carried out at Kheng Tean Primary School, Jalan Vampraagh. This project is jointly oraginzed by Leo Club of Penang (City), Leo Club of Chung Ling High School and Leo Club of Convent Datuk Keramat.

Beside that, this project organize in conjunction with Leo Club of Penang (City) 30th Anniversary Celebration and 50th years Anniversary of International Leo Program this year.

"Sing For Fun" Karaoke Fellowship

On the same day of visiting the PBA Waterfall Reservoir, 20 directors included some other active members went to Red Box karaoke at Gurney Plaza. President Elect and Secretary Elect didn't join us taking a cab to Gurney instead they walked there. All of them enjoyed sing happily. Besides that, some of them even snatching the microphone. Isn't that sounds fun? They were singing for three hours in the room. Lunch were served there too. Not so expensive per person, RM13, to be exact is RM12.65 included 15% taxes.
So when want to do it again?

Visits to Waterfall Reservoir

On 21st of April, was known as The World Water Day which is Last Saturday, Leo Club of Chung Ling High School had organized a visits to PBA Waterfall Reservoir at Botanical Garden. It is specially open on that day for public to visit. Club members gathered at Botanical Garden at about 9.45a.m. After that, all the members started to walk to the PBA reservoir. It takes about 15-20 minutes to reach there. It was quite hot and warm while the members were walking to the PBA center, many of them were sweating away.

When they reached at the PBA Waterfall Reservoir, the first thing that they saw was the reservoir which is so large. Then, members hiked up to the top to see the beautiful sight of the waterfall. It is a beautiful scenery for those who like to take photos. Many of the members took photos too. Something special was the waterfall had been closed to the public since the early 1970's due to safety reason and was open since last Saturday. Besides that,there were some equipment were still there too which were use to work on the processes of water.Some Star's reporter and photographer came to take report and take photos .

World Water Day - Visit to Waterfall Reservoir

This year, Water Watch Penang will organize World Water Day 2007 with the United Nations theme for 2007 "Coping with Water Scarcity". The Honourable Chief Minister of Penang, YB Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon will officiate and declare open the event. There will be a water colour painting competition (All students in Penang aged below 17 are eligible to take part. Lots of attractive prizes to be won. ). There will also be lots of water games, water exhibition, water guessing games, parent-child water competition, best booth competition, DJ music and etc throughout the day. There will be lots of souvenirs to be given out to the public. In addition, the PBA Waterfall Water Treatment Plant (inside Penang Botanical Gardens) will be open to the public for viewing. This is a once a year opportunity for the public. So don't miss it. All the local newspapers will be there to cover the event.

All member take note that we will be visiting the dam at Botanical Garden this coming Saturday. On this field trip, you'll learn a lot of stuff on how water are process at the dam, listen talks on how to water conservation and much more. You must not miss this event as this will be fun.

Leo Club of Convent Datuk Kramat invited us to join their celebration of their anniversary and witness the twinning of their club with Leo Club of SMK Keat Hwa II which located at Kedah. Approximately 10 Leos from our school attended this event. There were dance and singing performances by some cute orphans from St Joseph Orphanage Home, runner up of 2007 Leo Idol, Dave Chai from DiGi CelebriTeen and more. It costs RM28 per Leos for this event included buffet breakfast featuring Coffee Bean's tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes.

In the afternoon, some of us went to RCC Ong Lai Peng's house, as they host a movie watching project there. Watched "Night at The Museum" on Lion Ong's huge projecting screen with those cute orphans, they looked happy. By the way, Happy Anniversary to Leo Club of Convent D.

Region 1 Leo Idol 2006-2007 - [21st January 2007]

District 308 B2 Region 1 LEO Idol for 2006-2007 had successfully ended. It's just something like Malaysian Idol for fellow Leos to have fun.

40 LEOs (OMEGA & ALPHA) from different Leo Clubs jointed this LEO Idol. It is also 5 Leos participated in this Leo Idol Competition. Even though they didn't get into Finalist, they already had a good try. Those who din get into the Finalist, don't be so sad and try again next year. You will always get our fully support.

Champion of Region 1 Leo Idol 2006-2007, Leo Chin Jia Yin

10 out of 40 were get into the finalist, it would be hard works for the judges since all participants were so talented.

Champion and 1st Runner-Up goes to Leos from Leo Club of Convent Dato Kramat while 2nd Runner-Up goes to Leo from Leo Club of Penang Chinese Girl High School. Congratulations!!

The champion and 1st runner-up will have a opportunity to represent Region 1 for the District Leo Idol in the upcoming Multiple District 308 B2 Leo Forum on June.
